About Supreme Framing System

A need in the industry brought about the creation of Supreme Steel Framing System. After 3 years of continuous development, a steel stud with superior in strength 57 ksi, 22 mil (30 Equal) and a larger flange width was developed.

It all began when an independent stud manufacturer approached Neal Peterson, Professional Engineer of DEVCO Engineering, with the idea of using high-yield 57 ksi steel in a light gauge stud, an application never made public before.

Neal played a huge role in the development of the Supreme Steel Framing System and worked with Thomas Miller, Ph.D., of Oregon State University's School of Civil and Construction Engineering. Neal engineered the exact profile size of the stud, as well as, the engineering and calculations of wall heights and the structural properties of the steel. Neal also participated in the composite wall testing, which was under the supervision of Thomas Miller.

Thomas Miller is highly respected in the industry for providing all of the testing of Cold-Formed Steel Wall Stud Panels for the MSMA (Metal Stud Manufacturer's Association). He has also provided the composite wall testing for the SSMA (Steel Stud Manufacturer's Association). All of the testing conformed to the 2006 IBC Codes that would be required for all future projects.

Supreme Steel Framing System currently has nine different UL (Underwriters Laboratories) designs for 1-hour through 4-hour firewalls. Additionally, sound testing was conducted under the highest standards of approval by Riverbanks Acoustical Laboratories.

Supreme Steel Framing System is manufactured throughout the United States by several companies with a strong commitment to excellence.
